A softbox is a type of lighting used primarily in photography and filming. It's a special light source designed to provide soft, even, and balanced illumination for objects or models. The softbox consists of a reflective light dome with either a flash lamp or continuous light mounted inside.
The main function of the softbox is to diffuse light, eliminating harsh shadows that can occur when using direct light sources like flashbulbs. This allows photographers and filmmakers to achieve softer and more natural lighting effects, especially when shooting portraits or product photography.
Softboxes are widely used in photographic studios and come in various sizes and shapes.
What can you use it for:
☑️ Main or supplementary light in portraits
☑️ Supplementary light in nudes, fashion photography
☑️ Supplementary light in wider shots
☑️ Children's photography
☑️ Product photography
☑️ Film studio, film set (close-ups, interviews)
✅ Softbox 50x50 cm
The high-quality SOFTBOX fixture integrated with an E27 socket is ideal for both flash bulbs and continuous light bulbs. The dome has been finished inside with silver material, guaranteeing optimal light diffusion. The softbox lamp provides even distribution of light throughout the interior while maintaining consistent power on the diffuser surface.
The matte black outer surface of the softbox effectively eliminates reflections from other lamps, making it an ideal tool for professional photography. The process of unfolding and folding is extremely simple, and when folded, the softbox takes up minimal space, facilitating storage and transport.
Unfolding/Folding the presented softbox is exceptionally easy, and when folded, it occupies little space and is very mobile. The high-quality materials from which the softbox is made guarantee trouble-free operation for years. They are designed and manufactured to ensure safe use with bulbs.

✅ Photo Bulb (85W/5500K)
New Generation Photographic Bulb
Advanced LED bulbs Ignitix™ combine excellent quality with energy efficiency. Thanks to innovative technology, they offer extremely even and natural light, replacing traditional 85W bulbs while consuming an impressively low amount of energy at a maximum of 25W. Their eco-friendly nature makes them environmentally friendly while also contributing to lower electricity costs.
Ignitix™ stand out for their long lifespan, eliminating the need for frequent bulb replacements. Additionally, due to high energy efficiency, they reduce carbon dioxide emissions. They are compatible with various types of fixtures, making it easy to integrate them with existing softboxes. These bulbs emit light at a color temperature that reproduces colors naturally, which is extremely important when working on artistic, portrait, or product photography.
Can I use a softbox for filming?
Absolutely. Recently, we've been seeing more and more crossover of applications reserved for photography in the film world. The constant light fixture SOFTBOX 50x50 cm is an excellent alternative to budget panel lamp versions (so-called kinoflo). The cost of such a solution is significantly lower, yet the achieved effect remains the same.
What should you remember?
- Softboxes work best at short distances. Place them as close as possible to the illuminated people or objects, right on the edge of the frame.
- The larger the softbox diameter, the softer the tonal transition between light and shadow.
- If you need to shine from a long distance - remove the diffusive fabric. This will give you even more light.

CineGEN® — studio equipment designed by practitioners
CineGEN® is a Polish studio equipment brand we created in 2011 in Janki near Warsaw. We don't have 35 years of tradition or offices on two continents — what we do have is around 40,000 orders with CineGEN® products fulfilled every year and 15 years of working with light, which taught us what actually works in a studio.
The brand was born for a simple reason: selling other people's equipment, we too often had to explain flaws we had no control over. We preferred taking responsibility to making excuses — so we started building our own.
How we work
Specifications and part of the designs are created in Poland; manufacturing takes place in China, under our supervision. We say this openly, because that's how studio equipment is made all over the world today. The difference lies in who sets the requirements and who answers for the result: every batch arrives at our warehouse in Janki, where we inspect it, and before a product enters our catalogue, we work with it ourselves — on packshots, portraits and video shoots.
Our product descriptions state real parameters and real limitations. A 200 PLN lamp won't replace a 2,000 PLN kit — and we won't pretend otherwise.
What you'll find under the CineGEN® brand
Continuous lighting (FlatLight™, Lumifi™, ReLed™, Ensö™ panels with CRI >95), Ignitix™ photographic bulbs, softboxes and light modifiers, lighting, photo and video stands and tripods (including the Jupiter™ series), and home studio kits.
What we stand behind
CineGEN® is a trademark protected at the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland (application Z.574925, rights held by Digishots Sp. z o.o.).
Warranty service and spare parts are handled at our facility in Janki — no shipping your gear "back to the manufacturer".
You can see the equipment in person at our location in Janki (ul. Poniatowskiego 17), and you'll find tests and tutorials on the digishots.pl blog and the CineGEN YouTube channel.
